What Is Scoliosis?
Scoliosis can be present from adolescence or develop later in life from degenerative changes. Regardless of the cause, an uneven spine changes how weight and movement are distributed through the back.
Common Causes
- Idiopathic (unknown cause), often identified in adolescence
- Degenerative changes to the spine over time
- Muscle imbalances that develop around the curve
- Underlying structural differences in the vertebrae
Common Symptoms
- Visibly uneven shoulders, waist, or hips
- Back pain or fatigue, especially after standing or sitting
- Stiffness or reduced flexibility
- In some cases, changes in posture that become more noticeable over time
How We Treat It
We build a plan around chiropractic adjustments and targeted rehab exercises that support the muscles around the curve, aiming to reduce pain and improve day-to-day mobility and quality of life.
