What Is Neuropathy?

Neuropathy happens when peripheral nerves are compressed, irritated, or under-nourished by poor circulation. The symptoms show up farthest from the spine first — typically the hands and feet.

Common Causes

  • Nerve compression in the spine or extremities
  • Poor circulation to the hands and feet
  • Repetitive strain or previous injury
  • Underlying metabolic conditions (best co-managed with your physician)

Common Symptoms

  • Numbness or "pins and needles" in the hands or feet
  • Burning or tingling sensation
  • Weakness or clumsiness in the affected area
  • Symptoms that worsen at night

How We Treat It

We look for nerve compression along the spine and extremities and address it with chiropractic adjustments. For patients whose symptoms haven't resolved with adjustments alone, ozone injection therapy can help reduce inflammation around the affected nerve.
